They make you smile and encourage you to succeed.

 Lord, show them a new revelation of Your love and power.
 Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment.

 Where there is pain, give them Your peace & mercy.
 Where there is self-doubting, release a renewed confidence in
 Your ability to work through them.

 Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion,
  I ask You to give them understanding, patience, & strength
 as they learn submission to Your leading.

 Where there is spiritual stagnation,
 I ask You to renew them by revealing Your nearness,
 and by drawing them into greater intimacy with You.

 Where there is fear, reveal Your love,
 and release to them Your courage.

 Where there is a sin blocking them, reveal it,
 and break its hold over my friend's life.

 Bless their finances, give them greater vision,
 and raise up leaders, and friends to support, and encourage them.

 Give each of them discernment to recognize the demonic forces around them,
 and reveal to them the power they have in You to defeat it.

 I ask You to do these things in Jesus' name!

Friendship
Each of us has a hidden place
Somewhere deep within ourselves;
A place where we go to get away,
To think things through,
To be alone, to be ourselves.
This unique place, where we confront our deepest feelings,
Becomes a storehouse of all our hopes,
All our needs, all our dreams,
And even our unspoken fears.
It encompasses the essence of who we are and what we want to be.

the baby crocus bulbs in the garden that had been sleeping until
recent warm spell enticed them, to
mature way to early...............and they peeked out , then bloomed
too soon into such a rich blue indigo color
(my favorite)................................and they stood waving
in the wind, proud and so beautiful, so far ahead of their time
.....................there was nothing to fortell of the frost that came just
two days later
...........................and overnight with a chilling wind knocked them to
the ground
.................................I see them now, just lying there, a hint of what
they use to be
.....................................and somewhere deep within my soul, it really
saddens me

The Children's Hour

    In his Mouse-Tower on the Rhine!
Do you think, O blue-eyed banditti,
    Because you have scaled the wall,
Such an old mustache as I am
    Is not a match for you all!
I have you fast in my fortress,
    And will not let you depart,
But put you down into the dungeon
    In the round-tower of my heart.
And there will I keep you forever,

  When I was a child I would sit in the study of my
                                         Aunt Margarette's and read and memorize her poetry.
                                                 This one I remember the most as I love and remember her.

Old Friends

Around the corner I have a friend
  In this great city that has no end,
   Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
   And before I know it, a year is gone
   And I never see my old friends face,

   He knows I like him just as well

   We were younger then,
    And now we are busy, tired men.
    Tired of playing a foolish game,

Take Care of Your Friends"

       Friend  is a word that I don't throw around
       Though it's used and abused, I still like the sound.
       I save it for people who've done right by me
       And I know I can count on, if ever need be.
       Some of my friends drive big limousines
       Own ranches and banks and visit with queens,
       And some of my freinds are up to their neck
       In overdue notes and can't write a check.
       They're singers or ropers or writers of prose
       And others, God bless 'em, can't blow their own nose!
       I guess bein' friends don't have nothing' to do
       With talent or money or knowin' who's who.
       It's a comf'terble feelin' when you don't have to care,
       'Bout chosin' your words or bein' quite fair.
      'Cause friends'll just listen and let go on by
       Those words you don't mean and not bat an eye.
       It makes a friend happy to see your success.
       They're proud of yer good side and forgive all the rest.
       And that ain't so easy, all of the time,
       Sometimes I get crazy and seem to go blind!
       Yer friend just might have to take you on home,
       Or remind you sometime, that you're not alone.
       Or ever so gently pull you back to the ground,
       When you think you can fly, with no one around.

      Sometimes in life,
      you find a special friend;
